Ke GONG, born in Beijing, China,
June 1955. In 1982, he obtained Bachelor degree from Beijing Institute of
Technology. From 1982-1987 he studied further in the Technical University Graz,
Austria, where he worked on wave propagation in satellite links and obtained
Doctor Degree.
Since 1987, he has been working in Tsinghua University as associate professor (1990), full
professor (1994), deputy director (1993) and director (1998) of Chinese
National Laboratory on Microwave; Digital Communications, chairman of the
Department of Electronic Engineering (1997), vice president of Tsinghua
University (1999). In
recent years, he has worked on rural communication, personal and mobile
communication, satellite communication, digital TV transmission technologies
with emphasis on RF, antenna and wave propagations. He has published more than 100
papers. Now he also serves as standing member of the board of directors of
Chinese Institution of Electronics, vice president of China Institution of
Communication, and vice president of China Institute of Measurement and
Instrumentations.
