Getting Around in Toronto

Public Transportation: The public transportation system consists of subways, streetcars, and buses. Streetcars or buses require exact change ($3) or a token. Tokens can be purchased at any subway station. A "TTC Day Pass" ($10) allows unlimited usage of subways, streetcars, and buses. On weekends 2 adults and up to four children can ride on a single Day Pass. The subway has only two major lines, but is a fast way to move around the city. When changing between subway and streetcar, or between streetcars/buses, you need to show a transfer. Transfers can be obtained in a subway station (after you enter the turnstile), from streetcar conductor, or bus driver. The conference hotel is close to UNION STATION.
Walking and Safety: Toronto is one of the safest cities in North America. Most people feel safe walking around at any time of the day.
