The Symposium on SDN Research (SOSR) is the premiere venue for research publications on SDN, building on past years' successful SOSR and HotSDN (Hot Topics in Software Defined Networking) workshops. The ACM SOSR 2017 will be held in Santa Clara, CA on April 3-4, 2017. Like last year, SOSR will be co-located with the Open Networking Summit (ONS), providing opportunity for industry and academia to jointly explore and debate recent developments related to all aspects of SDN.

We also pleased to announce that we will be giving out the SOSR Software Systems Award at this year's SOSR, which recognizes software that has significantly impacted SDN.

On freedom of movement

We organizers of ACM SOSR are committed to ensuring a free exchange of ideas and international cooperation. We fully support ACM SIGCOMM's "Statement on Freedom of Movement," as well as ACM's statement of "Concern about New [United States] Executive Order Suspending Visas"; we will do all we can to help participants to attend and interact with others at SOSR.
