ACM CoNEXT 2026 Student Workshop
Call for Submissions
Following the success of previous years, the main conference will be accompanied by a one-day Student Workshop. The ACM CoNEXT 2026 Student Workshop aims at providing a platform for graduate students in the area of computer networks and communications to learn from senior researchers in the field and present their ongoing research efforts. The venue also represents a unique opportunity for students to network with other junior researchers as well as more experienced ones; receive constructive feedback, guidance, tips, and advice; and learn about cutting-edge research problems being tackled by the community.
We encourage submissions from graduate students about research at an early stage as well as more advanced dissertation-level research. Research addressing nonstandard topics, controversial problems and approaches are of particular interest. Submissions should not be under review at other venues, though they may have some technical overlap with previously published work or work under submission elsewhere.
The scope of the workshop is broad and covers all aspects of networking research. Example topics include, but are not limited to:
- All types of networks such as mobile, wide-area, data-center, home, and enterprise networks, the Internet-of-things, and social networks.
- All types of network technologies such as wired, wireless, visual, and acoustic.
- All types of networked applications and services, such as the web, video streaming, data processing and analytics, and networked mobile apps.
- All aspects of networks and networked systems such as architecture, packet-processing hardware and software, virtualization, mobility, sensors, resource management, performance, energy consumption, topology, robustness, security, diagnosis, verification, privacy, economics and evolution.
- All types of network design and experimental approaches such as theory, simulation, measurements, and machine learning-based techniques.
Submission Formats
Please follow the 2-columns, 10pt ACM sigconf format. You can find the template at this link.
When opening the template in Overleaf, please check out the sample-sigconf.tex file and set up the LaTeX class as \documentclass[10pt,sigconf,letterpaper,anonymous,nonacm]{acmart}.
Submissions are limited to two pages. Note that the two-page limit includes all figures, tables, and references. Every submission should answer the following questions:
- Problem statement: What is the problem that this project is going to address? Why is the problem important? Who will benefit when the problem is solved?
- What is the basic approach, method, idea, or tool that is being suggested to solve the problem?
- What exactly are the expected effects of the proposed solution? What are plausible alternatives? How likely are they? What is good and bad about them by comparison with what is proposed? What have others done already? What did they learn?
- What will be done to test out the hypotheses? How will this confirm or deny the hypotheses? Why will the conclusions be believable?
- What are the measures for success? How will we know to declare the project a success? For projects closer to completion, how do the current results support the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of the proposed solution?
The review process is double blind and therefore submissions must be anonymous, i.e., no authors or affiliations should be mentioned in the PDF. Please see the CoNEXT main track CFP for further details on double blind preparation. When registering the paper, the student should be the first author and it can be followed by one or more advisers.
