Submission Instructions for ACM SIGCOMM Internet Measurement Workshop 2002
To submit a paper,
you must complete the following 3 steps.
Step
1: Register your paper at the
IMW 2002 Paper
Registration Web Site
You must do this by
23:00 EDT, May 3, 2002.
Step 2: Paper Requirements
Please make sure
that your paper satisfies ALL of the following requirements before
being submitted:
-
The paper must be registered (see Step 1 above).
-
The paper must be
original material that has not been previously published nor is currently
under review by another conference or journal.
-
An abstract of under 250 words.
- The submission must conform with the page limits given in the
Call for Papers: at most 6 pages for extended
abstracts and at most 14 pages for full papers.
- Two-column.
- 11 point serif font used for the main text body.
- Margins and layout according to this
Sample Postscript Paper
(Sample PDF Paper),
taken from
INFOCOM 2002.
For Latex2e, we have a
cls class file,
a sample input file,
a sample bibliography file,
and
the whole thing as a gzip'd tar archive.
Note that when using the class file, you must specify
\documentclass[twocolumn,11pt]{infocom} at the beginning
of your Latex source file.
You can also get formatting templates for
MSWord.
-
Please number the pages.
-
The paper must be
formatted for black-and-white printers and not color printers. This is especially
true for plots and graphs in the paper.
-
Along with the names of the authors, the front page should indicate
both of the following:
-
the paper ID number
assigned during the paper registration process (see step 1 above).
-
the total number
of pages in the submission.
-
The paper
must be submitted in Postscript (preferred) or
PDF format.
We cannot
accept any other format,
and we must be able to print the document
just as we receive it.
-
Please make sure that the output has been formatted for printing on
LETTER size
paper. If generating a Postscript file using "dvips", use the option
"-t letter".
Step 3: Paper Submission
You must submit
your paper by uploading it via FTP to ftp.icsi.berkeley.edu.
Before uploading
your paper, you will need to name the file containing your paper.
The name of your file should be formed from the paper ID you received via
email, the initials of the first author, and the current date/time
as shown in the following example:
Suppose the paper id is 5, the first author
is John Q. Public, the date is May 8, 2002,
the local time is 22:30 (24hr clock) and you are submitting
a Postscript file.
In this case, you name the file 5jqp050820022230.ps.
Don't worry about the accuracy of the local time that you use; it need
not be exact.
To upload your submission:
1. FTP to ftp.icsi.berkeley.edu
2. Login as user
anonymous
3. Change to the directory incoming/imw2002
by typing "cd incoming/imw2002"
3. Change to binary mode using the bin command
4. Use the put
command to upload your file using the name specified above
(Note: FTP directory
listing is disabled, so you will not be able to
do an "ls" to see your submitted file.
Note also that you will not be able to overwrite the file.)
Once you have submitted
your file, we will confirm that we can print it and send a
confirmation email within two working days.
The
paper must be submitted electronically, and the process must be completed
by 23:00 EDT, May 10, 2002. This is a HARD deadline.
If you have any questions, please contact us via email at
imw2002@icir.org.
Thank
you for your interest in IMW 2002!
