Wireless Internet Data Collection Information

Packet header and control data was collected at the 2007 Internet Measurement Conference. In addition to its use for operating and debugging the conference wireless network, the data will be stored, anonymized, and released as a public data set similar to:

• SIGCOMM 2001 Conference Wireless Trace
• UW SIGCOMM 2004 Conference Wireless Trace

The data will be anonymized by:

• stripping the SSIDs that various connected devices probed for,
• anonymizing the MAC addresses,
• and anonymizing the IP addresses in the traces.

To opt-out of the data collection, email your MAC address to cshannon AT caida.org and your traffic will be removed from the trace.
