ACM SIGCOMM 2026 Networking Networking Women Professional Development Workshop (N2Women’26)
The 16th N2Women workshop aims to foster professional networking among women and underrepresented researchers in computer networking and related research fields. The workshop welcomes women, but also underrepresented minorities of any gender identity, students, and men who share the same research interests and face the same career hurdles.
Its goal is to:
- Connect newer generations of women in networking and underrepresented researchers with the community and foster mentorship relationships.
- Create a research forum in which students and junior researchers learn and discuss current trends in networking, present their research, and receive feedback.
- Engage a diverse body of junior researchers in the field.
- Form a supportive cohort of students and junior researchers who can stay connected throughout and beyond the conference.
The N2Women program will be a multi-day event held throughout the SIGCOMM conference, with activities planned during breakfast and lunch so they do not conflict with the main technical program. It will include keynote talks, a panel session on careers in networking, multi-day mentoring activities, and workshop sessions where junior researchers will have the opportunity to present their research through poster presentations.
The detailed program schedule will be announced soon.
N2Women runs a joint travel-grant applications process with SIGCOMM 26. Please refer to the SIGCOMM'26 travel grant page for information about how to apply, the format of the application, and the selection criteria. Make sure to mention in your application that you want to be considered for the N2Women travel grant.
Students selected for the N2Women travel grant will be expected to submit a poster for presentation at the workshop.
Posters will not be published in any proceedings and may therefore describe work that is already published, currently under submission, or planned for submission to other conferences or workshops. Presenting a poster is a valuable opportunity, especially for students and junior researchers, to increase the visibility of their work, receive feedback, and connect with the broader networking community.
Detailed poster format and submission instructions will be announced later.
The N2Women workshop will offer one-on-one and group mentoring sessions for students and junior researchers. In an effort to broaden participation, we are soliciting applications to be a mentor for the workshop. We encourage researchers of all gender identities and different career phases to apply here.
Travel grant awards are meant to cover the cost of attending the N2Women workshop in person ($1000~$2000). The cost may be fully or partially covered based on the individual needs of the applicants.
To be eligible, applicants should be students in good standing and conduct research in computer networking, communications, or related areas. Award recipients are expected to attend N2Women sessions across multiple days and present a poster on their research during the workshop to receive the travel grant.
Award recipients will need to pay expenses upfront and will be reimbursed after the N2Women workshop.
