Call for Workshop Proposals
ACM SIGCOMM 2026, to be held in-person in Denver, Colorado, USA is soliciting proposals for one-day/half-day workshops to be co-located with the main conference.
We invite you to submit workshop proposals on any topic related to the broad set of research and application areas covered by the SIGCOMM conference, including topics in network research, practice, and education. Topics that represent new research areas and directions are particularly welcome. The deadline for receiving proposals is February 18, 2026.
If the workshop is accepted, the proposers agree to recruit a Technical Program Committee (TPC) for selecting papers, recruit invited speakers if applicable, and advertise the workshop in order to attract papers and attendees.
As an integral part of the conference, the workshops will be fully incorporated into SIGCOMM's logistical and budget planning process. Workshop papers, unless opted-out, will be published in the same set of proceedings as the conference's papers, and will be available on the ACM Digital Library.
Workshop proposals sent in response to this open call should include the following material:
- A brief statement of interest including a motivation and rationale for the workshop topic and its relevance to the SIGCOMM community, as well as a comparison with existing workshops and conferences on related topics, if applicable.
- A draft Call for Papers (CfP), as complete as possible.
- Names and affiliations of the workshop chairs, a tentative composition of the committees. Please indicate whether prospective TPC members have been contacted, and whether they have accepted the invitation.
- Workshop format, including Half/Full day, expected number of presented papers, invited talks, panels, demonstrations, etc.
- Suggestions about possible keynote speakers and/or panel members.
- The planned workshop deadlines, both internal and external (see below).
- An expected number of submissions, accepted papers, and attendees (if known).
- Prior history of this workshop, if any, including number of submissions, number of accepted papers, and attendee count. If the workshop was co-located with another conference, please include details and a brief description why SIGCOMM is a more appropriate venue.
- A list of people whom you have solicited (or plan to solicit) to participate at the workshop.
- If the workshop is interdisciplinary, please provide details about your plans to advertise to other communities and how you intend to encourage participation at the workshop.
- If appropriate, the financial support the workshop intends to receive from a third-party.
- Any specifics related to the workshop, e.g., additional room space or additional equipment, for a demonstration, poster session, hackathon or similar, need to be already listed in the Workshop proposal.
The workshop organizers should also take into account the following practical considerations:
- All of the Workshops for ACM SIGCOMM 2026 should have the same deadlines (e.g. notification of acceptance and camera-ready deadlines), to facilitate coordination with other aspects of the conference organization. Deadline extensions should be coordinated with the Workshop and Publication chair(s). The notification and camera ready dates will be shared with organizers of selected workshops in due time.
- All workshops are planned to be held in person, in Denver, Colorado, USA. At least one author of an accepted paper must register and present their paper at the workshop in person.
- For greater interactions, we will require all workshops to have identical start, end and break times, though yet to be determined at this point.
- Individual Workshop organizers will be responsible for setting up the paper submission site and review process, as well as for their individual web page design in coordination with the ACM SIGCOMM 2026 Web chair(s).
- Individual Workshop organizers are expected to manage their workshop and coordinate with the local chair for facilities at the venue and with the publications chairs for camera-ready papers.
- Individual Workshop organizers are welcome to invite keynote speakers. Regularly, no financial support will be available by ACM SIGCOMM to cover workshop keynote speakers costs and the organizers should seek by themselves for sponsoring options, if necessary.
If you have any further questions about your workshop proposal, do not hesitate to contact the Workshop chairs.
All submitted proposals will be thoroughly evaluated and the proposers will be notified of the outcome by February 28. The workshop selection will be made by the Workshop chairs in consultation with the General chairs and the Steering Committee.
Kindly note that the ACM SIGCOMM organizers reserve the right to cancel, downsize or merge workshops that fail to have sufficient registered participants.
Please submit your workshop proposal in a single PDF file by sending it to the Workshop chairs by email at jiawang@research.att.com and ramd@uoregon.edu with the subject "SIGCOMM 2026 Workshop Proposal: ABCD" (where ABCD is the acronym of your proposed workshop) by February 18, 2026 AoE.
