STUDENT TRAVEL AWARDS
SIGCOMM '99 is pleased to announce its Student Travel Grant Program. The purpose of the program is to encourage graduate student participation at the conference by partially or fully funding the travel costs of students who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference.
Who Should Apply
Any graduate student in good standing, regardless of nationality, or any other criteria, except as noted, should apply. Although no more than one student will be accepted from any single school, the decisions will be based as much as possible on both what the student may get from the conference and what the student may bring to the conference.
Student authors of SIGCOMM papers are not eligible to apply. (It is the conference's view that advisors should pay for student authors to attend.)
How to Apply
Applications and supporting letters for a student travel grant should be emailed to Jayanta Dey, as soon as possible, and no later than 16 July, 1999.
We have extended the deadline for Student Travel Grant Applications past the orginal deadline of 18 June. However, to encourage/enable students to get the best airfares, the Student Travel Grant Committee will review applications as they are received, and will start issuing the Travel Grants starting the first week of July.
Applications should include:
