Terminal Rooms: The main conference terminal room is located in the basement of the Applied Physics and Mathematics building (AP&M), room B432, from 7am to 10pm, August 27 through August 31. AP&M is a large concrete building northwest of the Mandeville Auditorium, and is highlighted on the campus map included in the registration packet. Enter AP&M where the building wings intersect, and take the elevators or stairs down one floor to the basement; if it feels like you're in a bunker, you're in the right place. Turn right from the elevator and stairs and go down the corridor to find room B432. The door should be unlocked.
There is also a terminal room located close to the tutorials in Center Hall 315. It is open from 7am to 5pm.
The machines are late model Macintoshes. Communication software, such as MacSSH, Netscape, and IE, is located in the Communication folder within the main drive folder. There will not be any support personnel in the room; if you encounter problems, contact someone at the registration desk in Mandeville. There are no Ethernet taps for laptops.
Wireless: There is
802.11b wireless network access at Mandeville Auditorium and the tutorial
classrooms in Center Hall. Configure your wireless card to use the wireless
network name "UCSD". Authentication has been disabled in these
locations. In other places on campus, such as the Price Center and The
Grove Cafe, you will need to authenticate with the wireless network before
you can access it. Use the login "sigcomm" and the password
