- Broken Yolk
- Another good breakfast spot, known for its large (4-egg) omelettes. If you can finish the dozen-egg omelette in an hour, it's free; otherwise, $19.99.
- Original Pancake House
- A national chain that specializes in apple pancakes, german pancakes, and crepes, with many other pancake, waffle, and omelette options.
- Sunday Brunch at the Hotel Del
- Brunch in the Crown Room at the Hotel Del Coronado is the ultimate decadent San Diego brunch experience (and it's priced accordingly).

South American

Breweries/Pubs
- Karl Strauss
- Great local chain of brewery restaurants.
- Gordon Biersch
- Burgers and garlic fries (and of course the beer!) are popular at this Mission Valley branch of the national chain.
- BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse
- Deep dish pizza and a variety of beers, including a tasty hard berry cider.
- Rock Bottom
- Good beer and good food at the La Jolla branch of this national chain.
- Pizza Port
- A great local pizza place and brewing house about 20 minutes north of the conference. Near the beach, and quite loud, so don't expect intimate conversation.
- Shakespeare Pub and Grill
- Henry's Pub
- Great downtown pub.
- Stone Brewery
- A great brewery restaurant in Escondido (45 minutes away -- quiet a distance from the conference). Excellent beer and even better food. Their Smoked Porter is not to be missed. (the Whole Foods grocery store in La Jolla carries the beer as well)

- Tip Top Meats
- Great German deli/butcher shop. A significant drive from the conference, but it's worth the trip.
Sushi
- Sushi Ota
- Some of the best sushi in San Diego can be found in this small restaurant behind a 7/11 just off Mission Bay. The high Japanese:English ratio is often a hallmark of great sushi. Reservations highly recommended.

- In Hillcrest, near the site of the IMC Banquet. Known for it's loud singing and dancing from the waitstaff -- definitely a fun excursion. Don't be surprised if you get hit with a straw or two.
