SIGCOMM’13 will be held at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Sha Tin, Hong Kong.

SIGCOMM 2013 will take place at the Yasumoto International Academic Park, a newly-opened significant landmark and teaching building on The Chinese University of Hong Kong campus. The venue is conveniently located opposite to the exit D of the MTR University Station or less than 10 minutes walk from exit A.

Cancellation:

  • About the hostel:

    This is the student hostel for students of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and only available for group booking during the summer.

    International House Block 3 situated at the Village Path near the Mong Man Wai Building of the Central Campus.

    Room Facilities:

    • All twin or triple rooms with an air-conditioner, a set of bedding including pillow, pillow case, quilt, quilt cover and filled sheet during the residence period.
    • Shared toilet and bathroom. Males and females will be allocated rooms in different floor.
    • Personal toiletries including toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, shower cap, razors, shower get, shampoo, towel and slippers are NOT provided.
    • CUHK Campus Wide Wifi will be available after registered to the Conference.
    • Check-in to the rooms can only be done during 3:00pm to 9:00pm and check-out should be before 11:00am on 17 August 2013.
    • The rooms will be given in first-come first-serve basis and priority will be given to participants who are willing to share room.

    Rate:

    Total amount of HK$ 1,300 per person for sharing room for the whole duration from August 11, 2013 to August 17, 2013 (6 nights)

    1. Interested student please read the hostel detail and return the completed CUHK Hostel Application Form to sigcomm13@gmail.com by Monday July 1st, 2013, 23:59 HKT (July 1st is a public holiday in Hong Kong and we may not be able to answer any query).
    2. The rooms’ allocation result will be released on Wednesday July 3, 2013 and successful applicants will receive email notification.
    3. Successful applicants should pay for the room fees by Sunday July 7, 2013, 23:59 HKT.
      • You will be regarded as giving up the room place if we cannot receive the fee by the deadline and your place will be released to other applicants.
      • The room fee is not refundable and transferable.

Ground Transportation

The conference venue is right at the University MTR train station. From the University station, you can go to the city center in 20-30 minutes. You can click the Hong Kong train MTR map here. From the airport

  • By Airport Express + MTR Train: Take the Airport Express to the Tsing Yi station. Then take the MTR train to the University station. The fare is HK$60 (~US$8) for Airport Express + HK$12 (US$1.5) for the MTR train.
  • By Airport Bus + MTR Train: Take airport bus route number A41 from the airport to Sha Tin Station. The bus runs from 06:00 to 24:00 at 20-minute intervals. The Sha Tin Central Bus Terminal is not the terminal stop for the bus, so ask the driver where to get off or pay attention to the announcements. The bus ride takes 65 - 70 minutes depending on traffic conditions. The fare is HK$22.3 (US$4.5) payable upon boarding the bus in exact change.

    You can take the MTR train from the Sha Tin station to the University station (2 stations).

  • By Taxi: The trip from the airport to the university is about 45 minutes. Normally, the fare is about HK$300 (~US$40). Most taxi drivers in Hong Kong know some English.
